The cast, which is led by Bacon and Gallner (who had a brief role in “Scream” earlier this year), also includes Caitlin Stasey, Kal Penn, Rob Morgan, Jessie T. Can she figure out more about this curse (or whatever it is) before she ends up being the latest victim? Who is in the “Smile” cast?

She soon discovers that this death is part of a series of similar violent incidents, all involving smiling individuals. The patient slit their own throat, all the while smiling. Rose Cotter (Bacon), a clinical psychiatrist, witnesses a patient kill themselves in front of her. Perfect for that Thanksgiving get-together! What is “Smile” about? That would put its debut somewhere around mid-November. But if we were betting (and we are), we’d say it’d be closer to 45 days than not. “Top Gun: Maverick,” for example, still isn’t available on the service, and it opened in May. Since then, there’s been more variation in how long the wait between theatrical and streaming is. But that was also when COVID numbers were significantly higher. “A Quiet Place: Part II” went to the platform almost exactly 45 days after its theatrical debut. Paramount+ is pretty slippery when it comes to when its movies are hitting the service.

When will “Smile” be streaming on Paramount+? This is a real matinee-at-the-mall movie, in the best possible way. This is honestly probably a good thing, as its effectiveness is directly related to the amount of teenagers screaming and throwing their popcorn around you.
#SCARY MOVIES IN THEATERS NOW PLAYING MOVIE#
In theaters and on now pic.twitter.“Smile” is, at present, exclusively playing in movie theaters. One of the problems with having an HBO Max subscription is I feel compelled to watch the movies I would never pay money to see in a theater because they are part of my monthly subscription. I can't tell what the f*ck is happening in this Malignant movie. If you’d like to see it at home, too, you can do so with an HBO Max subscription, which you can sign up for here. This includes reactions from people who loved it, who enjoyed it, and who clearly had no idea what was going on. Meantime, here’s a sampling of some of the reaction from social media to the film. “The final thirty minutes of Malignant, you may have heard, are (expletive) insane … Riding a wave of ridiculousness that crescendos at just the right moment, it’s a gory and gonzo mash-up that straddles various lines with aplomb: Between seriousness and camp homage and rip-off and novelty and patchwork-quilt derivation.” But, for me, this intro to a review about Malignant from Esquire really hits this nail on the head. It’s hard to talk about this movie without spoiling the over-the-top twist that Wan attempts to pull off. Like this one from The AV Club, which concludes: “There’s no way to watch this deranged follow-up and not conclude that Wan’s back where he belongs.”

On the Rotten Tomatoes review aggregation site thus far, Malignant boasts a 78% critics score, based on 98 reviews. And, as we noted above, critics seem to approve. But this film has already been cited for having the truly wildest ending of any horror movie in 2021. We won’t spoil the surprises for you here, of course. It stars Annabelle Wallis as Madison, who “is paralyzed by shocking visions of grisly murders, and her torment worsens when she discovers that these waking dreams are really terrifying realities.” “Director James Wan, architect of The Conjuring universe, Insidious, and Saw, returns to his original horror roots with Malignant,” HBO Max explains in its synopsis of the movie.
